The graduating class of 2008 received a reprieve from the Washington state legislature - current high school seniors will not have to pass the Math and Science sections of the WASL to graduate. This is good, as more than half of graduating seniors could have been denied their diplomas.
The WASL legislation is a delay, not an abolishment - the Class of 2013 may have to face it barring other changes in the rules.
