Free Online Courses at Carnegie Mellon

Free online courses are now available at Carnegie Mellon: Biology, Calculus, Causal Reasoning, Chemistry, Economics, Empirical Research Methods, French, Logic & Proofs, Physics, Statistics, Statics. Some courses are still construction, but it good to find out about these for the upcoming school year.

The Physics course looks terrific - with lots of video, simulations and virtual lab, and online tutor. MIT Open Courseware also has its first year physics course completely available for free - including video here. Great resources. (Thanks HT: homeschool2college)

Thank you for posting about these courses! As a parent that is relatively new to homeschooling, I'm an avid information seeker. I'm particularly interested in finding ways for my children to learn at the own pace, in the styles that best suit them.

  2. Thanks for letting us know. The resources available these days is just incredible - and you're doing exactly the right thing for your kids.
