Our Social Minds: Understanding You & Me

When we watch others, we imagine what they're doing or what they're going through the lenses of our own experience. At least fMRI studies show that our understanding of what someone else is doing or experiencing is conveyed to our brains by activating those primary experience pathways ourselves.



It gives deeper meaning for empathy and social understanding, this kind of mirroring could also lead to misunderstanding.
