Beyond Behavior: President's Council Transcripts

We're back, and the President's Council on Bioethics has post the transcripts (including our presentations). It was a remarkable experience, and when you have time, please look through the session discussions on both Feb 2nd and 3rd.

The truth is, we probably all don't reflect enough on advances in science, medicine, and technology have affected our day-to-day priorities, expectations, and assumptions, and even less on how it affects the lives of our children. The Council was an opportunity to hear leaders from science, medicine, and ethics discuss and disagree, and question current attitudes and practices concerning children - with special attention given to diagnosis and labeling problems, psychiatry, ADHD and autism spectrum disorders, and pediatric neuropharmacology. It's important to have a forum for honest questioning and critique.

N.B. Dr. Greenspan swapped times, so we followed him. Dr. Joseph Biderman (Harvard Medical School) spoke on Day 2.
